Adele Cox

Adele Cox is a Bunuba woman from the Kimberley region of Western Australia.

Her areas of experience include Indigenous broadcasting and journalism, Indigenous health research, policy and program development and recently Indigenous medical education. Adele works as a part-time academic at the Centre for Aboriginal Medical and Dental Health at the University of Western Australia and is Director of ACOX Consultancy, a privately-owned Indigenous business.

Adele worked previously at Goolarri Media Enterprises and the Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Service Council Inc. before undertaking roles as a consultant for the Aboriginal Education Directorate at the WA Department of Education and Training; Senior Research Officer at the Telethon Institute for Child Health Research working on various research projects including the WA Aboriginal Child Health Survey; and, most recently as Lecturer for the Centre for Aboriginal Medical and Dental Health. Adele also serves on various committees and councils, including; member of the Steering Committee for the Longitudinal Study of Indigenous Children; Chairperson of the National Indigenous Youth Movement of Australia; member of the Oxfam Australia - Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Reference Group; member of the headspace - Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Strategic Advisory Committee; member of the Australian Suicide Prevention Advisory Council and member of the Taskforce for the Shadow Reporting of the UN Convention of the Rights of the Child.
