LiNK as a Network Member
Network membership is free and it only takes a few minutes to register online.
Why be a member of the network?
Network members are those who work, or who are training to work, in areas related to the health and wellbeing of children and adolescents with an interest in the impact of psychological trauma, loss and grief.
You could be:
- a professional or community worker providing services for children and adolescents experiencing trauma, loss or grief
- a postgraduate student in an area related to the health and wellbeing of children and adolescents
- a professional, administrator or representative/consultant involved in research, policy, professional education and training, or advocacy.
All network members can contribute to the functioning of the network. Members bring new initiatives, ideas and experiences and make the network 'live'.
Being a network member can help you to access information, exchange ideas, share knowledge, disseminate your announcements and activities, and locate people with a particular interest.
- Link with others - You can be listed on the members' directory for access by other members
- Share your knowledge - You can provide information and resources that can be displayed for general website access or for members only.
As a network member you can choose to:
- receive email newsletters and web updates
- receive email bulletins of network activities
- contribute information and resources
- be listed on the members’ directory
- receive information about specific topics of interest.
Via the public access and network members' area of the website, you can:
- upload resources related to your area of interest and expertise
- disseminate your announcements and activities
- identify other network members who share your areas of interest
- exchange ideas and share information with your peers and those in other specialties.
Over time, the network will develop a number of resource topic hubs, or groups addressing specialised topic areas, in partnership with key stakeholders.
As hubs are initiated and the necessary consultation undertaken, network members will be invited to join as hub participants with the option to participate in an online forum.
How to sign up as a network member
There is an online membership registration form (please see the link below). It will take you about 10 minutes to complete the registration form.
Please read our Privacy Statement and Terms of Use
Once your registration information has been confirmed, your user name and password will be activated and you will have full access to the site, including logging in to the members-only area. You will receive an email letting you know when this has happened. This may take up to several weeks, depending on the number of registrations we need to process at any one time.
When you sign up you will be asked to provide:
• Your basic professional information
• Your primary area(s) of practice
• The settings in which you link with children and adolescents who have experienced trauma, loss or grief
• Your primary role(s)
• The sector(s) in which you are currently working or training to work.
From time to time we will also ask you additional 'networking' information.
We ask three questions at the time you sign up to become a member. Your responses to these will help bring together stakeholders already working in the area of child and adolescent trauma, loss and grief. Your local knowledge of individuals and organisations can provide an essential contribution to the development of the network.
Describing your area(s) of practice
A classification of the areas of practice where stakeholders address issues across the range of child and adolescent trauma, loss and grief experiences has not previously been defined. User-generated categories were developed using data from the feasibility study to produce a synthesis of responses to the open-ended question regarding the respondents’ main areas of expertise together with their organisational details. If none of these categories fit please describe your area of practice in the ‘other’ category. We will use these to refine the categories of areas of practice.
Please keep us informed
The value of the members' directory depends on our database being up-to-date. If you change jobs, please send us details of your new role and contact details so we can update the directory. We will contact members every six months to see if member information has changed.
